Laos is full of surprises

After a visit to LAOS, a bittersweet taste remains in our mouth. We didn´t expect anything before our visit and Laos surprised us in both, good and … not so good way.
🛵

SABAIDEE! After the Nepalese “Namaste” our second most favourite greeting. Doesn´t it sound nice? Sabaidee.
🛵
Laos is definitely the most EXPENSIVE from the mainland SE Asian five. Which made us quite breathless in such a poor country.
🛵
We found the most beautiful MOUNTAINS, JUNGLE and views above them, here.
🛵
Before you visit the country it is worthwhile to verify all information in advance. Exchange rates, SIM card pricing, they will try to make money on everything.
🛵
There still live some aboriginal tribes in the mountains and villages that maintain their traditions. Some are so isolated they still believe the EARTH IS FLAT.
🛵
Laos is the most bombed country per capita in history. During the War in Vietnam, it became a victim of the so-called SECRET WAR when the US through more than 2 million tons of bombs on Laos, because they were losing a war with Vietcong troops, that were hiding also in Laos.
🛵
After a very long time, we had GOOD TEA. The things we had to drink in the rest of the countries were just blahhh.
🛵
For the first time, we had to pay for motorbike damage. It is so SLIPPERY here and the condition of the machines is not good enough.
🛵
Do you like CURVES? You can drive through them non stop for 5 hours in Laos.
🛵
After two hours of constant turns, local residents begin to VOMIT. And throw the full bag directly from a window.
🛵
We felt somehow SAFE here. There are not many people and tourists, they smile rather than frown and it feels like the Czech countryside 20 years ago. For NONcityraised simply MELANCHOLIA.
🛵
This time we stayed only for two weeks. We didn’t manage to see everything we wanted, but we’ll remember Laos for a long time.
